How/when did you first meet?
At university, we did the same course but actually met at the union on our first day!
What happened on the day you decided to GET WED?
We were skiing in Austria with friends, Jonny proposed at the top of a mountain in Zauchensee, my favourite ski resort. We were the only ones up at the viewing platform at the top of the women’s downhill run when he got down on one knee, it was absolutely perfect.
How did you go about planning your day? What was your theme/style?
We both have very large families and so we knew our wedding was going to be big in numbers. We wanted to find somewhere that could accommodate us all but that was also a beautiful venue. We just wanted the day to be lots of fun for everyone and dance into the evening with friends and family. I wouldn’t say we necessarily had a theme, we made a lot of things ourselves such as invites, table decorations, favours and so on, which was great fun!
Which suppliers did you use and what was great about them?: Our wedding reception was at Barton Hall which was great, we loved that people could stay in the hotel, it really made it more of a wedding weekend than day! My cousin did the flowers, her company are Foxglove Studio based in Marlow. All their flowers are simply stunning and everyone commented on how beautiful the flowers were on the tables. We used KM photography (a friend of a friend) they were a lovely couple and really captured some lovely moments of the day. Finally, obviously we used Fineshade Films for the wedding video. I teach with Danielle and knowing how amazing she is at media I just knew I had to ask if she would film our day. Danielle was just brilliant and the film she produced for us is just stunning. We love watching it back and remembering how amazing the day was.
What was your favourite part of your day?
Oooh that’s such a tough one, the whole day was more perfect than we could have imagined. Jonny can’t decide on a favourite moment, he says it was all so amazing. For me I loved the car journey from the church to the reception when we could take a few minutes to take it all in just us. One moment that will stay forever with us (and that Danielle managed to capture and start our video with) is the huge cheer from all our guests when we entered the wedding breakfast.
Your wedding day Top Tip please!
It sounds like such a cliche but enjoy every second, when people say the day flies it really and truly does. Oh and dance ... dance lots and just have the best time ever!
